Review by hotel critic
I recently spent two nights at Tor-Na-Coille, attending a family funeral. Despite the somber occasion, the ambiance felt welcoming. My family members joined me, and we found the staff exceptionally helpful during our stay. We opted for a superior room, which was spacious and quiet-a welcome respite. On our first night, we enjoyed dinner; the food was solid and the service attentive. The dining area, decorated with a Scottish theme, provided a comfortable setting for breakfast, where the kitchen staff displayed genuine care in meeting our dietary requests. The hotel, under chef-owner David Littlewood, offers a unique culinary experience. It's also a fantastic base for families, with the Lecht ski centre nearby-ideal for enjoying Scotland's outdoor activities. I would consider returning for a less bittersweet visit.
